Breast Lift. Restore lift and shape.

Overview: A breast lift (mastopexy) removes excess skin and reshapes breast tissue to raise the breasts and reposition the nipple. It can be done on its own or combined with implants or a reduction.

Who it's for: Patients whose breasts have lost firmness or shape after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight change, or aging, who are in good general health. Those planning future pregnancies are usually advised to wait.

What to expect:

  • Procedure: The incision pattern depends on how much lift is needed and is discussed at your consultation.
  • Recovery: Many patients return to desk work in about one to two weeks and avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for about four to six weeks. A surgical bra is worn during healing.
  • Results: Shape refines over several months. Scars fade over time but are permanent. A lift does not stop natural changes from aging.

FAQ:

  • Will it make my breasts smaller? A lift reshapes and repositions but does not significantly change volume. Combining it with implants or a reduction changes size.
  • Can I still breastfeed? Often, though it can be affected. Dr. Lawal will discuss this if it matters to you.
