Liposuction. Targeted contouring.

Overview: Liposuction removes stubborn pockets of fat to refine your shape in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and under the chin. It is designed for contouring, not for weight loss.

Who it's for: Patients near a stable, healthy weight with localized fat that does not respond to diet and exercise, who have reasonably good skin elasticity.

What to expect:

  • Procedure: Small incisions are used to remove fat through thin tubes. The areas treated are planned with you in advance.
  • Recovery: Soreness, swelling, and bruising are expected. A compression garment is worn for a period of weeks, and many patients return to desk work within several days to a week or two depending on the areas treated.
  • Results: Swelling resolves gradually, and final contour is usually clear after a few months. Fat cells removed do not return, but remaining cells can still enlarge with weight gain.

FAQ:

  • Will loose skin tighten? Skin response varies. If you have significant loose skin, a tummy tuck or another procedure may fit better.
  • Can liposuction treat multiple areas at once? Often, within safe limits. Dr. Lawal will advise at your consultation.
